It may be the hot spot for gambling in the United States, but Sin City is also the first city with an interactive cannabis museum that is set to destigmatize the entire industry in one fell swoop.
On September 20th 2018, the Cannabition Cannabis Museum opened its doors for the first time, adding yet another attraction to the ever growing list for Las Vegas, Nevada. This museum is the first of its kind and aims to remove the overwhelming stigma surrounding the cannabis industry.
Though legal cannabis has come a long way since total prohibition, there is still a ways to go. A lot of people in the Untied States (and the world for that matter) still see cannabis as something less than beneficial to society, refusing to accept the truth of the plant's benefits. Despite the obvious medicinal benefits of cannabis consumption, the stigma that has been built since the dawn of the War on Drugs has kept the industry bogged down. Cannabition creator, J. J. Walker is working against that by opening minds and imparting knowledge about cannabis to the masses.
"Our goal when people come out of this is that they don't fear the cannabis industry if they are not believers in the industry."-J.J. Walker
The opening of the Cannabition Cannabis Museum is a step forward for Nevada as a whole. The state legalized cannabis back in 2017, but it has not granted any social consumption licenses to any of the cannabis companies, meaning no smoking in public. Though there is no hope right now of consuming legal cannabis while exploring the Cannabition Museum, that might change in the future. In the meantime, J. J. Walker and his team are proud to be working towards destigmatizing the industry as a whole and making the future of the legal cannabis industry brighter.
