Bongs and water pipes are among the most popular smoking devices available today. And bongs have come a long way since their emergence in the 1970s. These days bongs are made with high end scientific glass and they feature percolators and diffusers that filter the smoke, creating clean, smooth hits.
But how much thought do you give to the actual water you put in your bong? Most likely you just fill it up from the sink, like most of us do. But the water (or other liquids) that you place into your bong can greatly impact the quality of your smoke experience. The more pure and clean the water the better the hit will be. In fact, there are now brands out there like Piece Water that make water "all natural" versions that are perfect for all your smoking needs.
To prove just how important the water you put in your bong really is one intrepid reporter from Vice magazine went on an epic quest to test a variety of substances, including Holy Water, pumpkin spice latte, Mountain Dew and ranch dressing.
At the end of his testing he spoke to a water sommelier (yes, these existed) who suggested that chilled Fiji water would be a great substance to use in a bong. And we think that's a good call.
While the quality of the water might not alter the effect of the substance smoked using clean, fresh filtered water will produced a more enjoyable hit.
